Who we are

CPRE Bedfordshire Executive Committee meeting CPRE Bedfordshire Executive Committee meeting
CPRE Bedfordshire is a local branch of Campaign to Protect Rural England who works to promote and protect the countryside of Bedfordshire.
Although affiliated to the national organisation of CPRE, we are a locally based charity and rely on local support for the work we do.

Founded in 1987, for over 30 years we have been a voice for everyone who wants to protect our countryside and we a leading contributor to local planning, countryside and environmental debates. We welcome support from anyone interested in the countryside – membership is open to all.

CPRE has a long history of achievements in defending the beauty, diversity and tranquillity of the English countryside, encouraging the sustainable use of land and other natural resources and successfully campaigning for measures such as National Parks and Green Belts to protect our countryside.

CPRE Bedfordshire has an office in Bedford with three part-time members of staff. Our work relies on the support and efforts of our team of over twenty volunteers across Bedfordshire.
