CPRE Bedfordshire has learned from a Freedom of Information request that 60% of the planned new homes that Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) claims it needs are for people moving into Central Bedfordshire from elsewhere, rather than local need.

Central Bedfordshire's draft Local Plan - have your say
Central Bedfordshire Council's draft Local Plan, which sets out development in the area for the next 20 years, is now open for consultation.
CBC is proposing that it needs between 20,000-30,000 new homes over this period, in addition to the 23,000 homes that are already allocated or have planning permission.
