New maps reveal Night Blight in Bedfordshire

New interactive maps offer most detailed ever picture of light pollution in Bedfordshire.

The most detailed ever satellite maps of England’s light pollution and dark skies, released by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), have shown that Bedfordshire is in the top ten counties most impacted by light pollution in England.

CPRE Bedfordshire joined together with the people of Kempston and The Victorian Society to save The Bury manor house in Kempston from a planning application that would have seen its demolition.

The summer edition of CPRE Bedfordshire's twice-yearly magazine Bedfordshire Matters is available now. This issue has been given a make-over by our new editor. We hope you like it!

Bedford Borough Council has revealed plans to create two new towns in the north of the county.

As part of consultations on the Bedford Borough Local Plan 2032, developers have put forward last minute proposals to create two new towns in rural north Bedfordshire.

This year, local plans are being progressed by Bedfordshire's local authorities - Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council and Luton Borough Council - plus neighbouring Milton Keynes – that will set the level and shape of development in our towns and countryside for the next 15 years or so.
